For the past 15 years Ann has written, directed and edited narrative and experimental films. Ann’s shorts have screened throughout the U.S. and the EU. Her last narrative short ‘Viktor’ was about a gender-variant youth finding personal expression in a repressive family environment. It was an official selection at the Seattle Transgender Film Festival, the Trans* Stockholm Film Festival and the Children’s International Film Festival of Brussels.

She has received two Jerome Foundation Film grants, a McKnight Media Arts Fellowship, and a MRAC Next-Step Grant.

Ann is passionate about telling stories of women's lives – especially stories that reveal the strength needed to survive and thrive. She creates characters who tend to dwell outside social norms and exist in the space between and in the process of becoming. As a writer-director-editor she challenges herself to discover alternatives to the linearity of narrative construction.
